Hey! I’m Gus 😊 I’m a friendly and supportive French tutor currently studying Economics and French at the University of Warwick. I’m on my year abroad and recently studied in Martinique in the Caribbean, and I’m currently undertaking a research internship in Quebec — experiences that have really helped me bring the language to life and understand different cultures. I know learning a language can sometimes feel intimidating, so my lessons focus on building confidence and making French feel enjoyable and achievable. I like adapting my teaching style to each student so lessons feel relaxed, engaging and tailored to how they learn best. I teach French at pretty much all levels — from beginners and Key Stage students through GCSE, iGCSE and IB, right up to AS and A Level. I also lived in Paris when I was younger and have a French speaking mother so I grew up with strong exposure to the language from an early age. I achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE French a year early. I enjoy sharing practical tips and techniques that can help students gain confidence and improve their French in an enjoyable and steady way.

I am studying Biotechnology at the University of Nottingham and have been tutoring students from KS2 to A-Level for two years. I am passionate about making learning more fun for my pupils because that way they'll learn better. I am very good at explaining difficult concepts in different ways so that all students understand. I did A Levels in Biology (AQA), Chemistry (AQA), Economics (Edexcel). I am in my third year of Biotechnology BSc (Hons) and have studied a variety of modules during my studies that equiped me with relevant knowledge that will allow me to stretch my students who want to know more about science. I help my students reach their maximum potential by focusing on building the skills that they will need to succeed in exams. Exam skills are often the downfall of even very intelligent students. Exams are stressful and unnatural enviroments, but by practicing all types of questions together, my students have gone on to achieve grades that they would not have thought possible.
