Hi, I’m Samara! I’ve been tutoring English at KS3, GCSE and A Level, as well as 11+ preparation, since 2022. I’m currently studying Law at a Russell Group university and genuinely love helping young people grow in confidence and reach their full potential! I teach students aged 8 to 18 and always aim to make my lessons engaging, supportive and tailored to each student’s individual needs. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building their skills at their own pace. Outside of teaching, I love music, cooking and documentaries :) I am currently studying Law at the University of Southampton, a Russell Group university, where I have further consolidated my strong skills in academic writing, critical analysis and clear communication. My degree requires me to understand complex information, construct well-supported arguments and explain ideas in a structured and accessible way, which are all skills I bring into my teaching! I have completed modules including the Foundations of Legal Knowledge, the core units for an LLB Law degree. Before university, I completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma at Bexley Grammar School. My studies included English Literature, Global Politics and History which strengthened my essay-writing, analytical and communication skills. This diploma is notoriously more rigorous than A levels and has really helped me in preparation for university and for teaching A level English Literature. I also achieved strong GCSE results across subjects including English Language, English Literature, History, Religious Studies, Business Studies, French Mathematics and the sciences. As a former grammar school student, I also have a strong understanding of the 11+ process and the skills students need to develop in English, maths, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. I have been tutoring since 2022 and have experience teaching students from approximately age 8 to 18. I tutor 11+ preparation, KS3 English, GCSE English Language and Literature, and A Level English. I have worked with students of different abilities, including those who need additional confidence and support, as well as higher-achieving students aiming for top grades. In the past, I have led sessions with SEN students and first-time English learners hoping to do the 11+ or work towards sitting their SATS. Texts covered by me at GCSE level include Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, A Christmas Carol, An Inspector Calls, poetry for both anthologies and many more. As for A Level students, I have covered Othello, Twelth Night, Jane Eyre, The Handmaid's Tale, A Street Car Named Desire, The Great Gatsby and many more. My lessons are tailored to each individual student. I aim to create a friendly and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their confidence. I use clear explanations, worked examples, structured practice and regular feedback to help students understand difficult topics and make measurable progress. I also adapt my teaching style depending on the student’s age, learning needs and goals, while keeping lessons engaging and focused. Teaching is something I genuinely enjoy, particularly seeing students become more confident and independent over time. I am patient, reliable and enthusiastic, and I take pride in helping students achieve their academic goals while also developing a more positive attitude towards learning :)

I am a 22 year old who puts her heart and soul into her passion, which is teaching. I absolutely love people, interacting and getting to know people. I love being creative, whether it be planning my next lesson for a class or molding something with clay, I am always busy! I am a good balance between introverted and extroverted because I do treasure my alone time for some self care masks and watching a comfort movie. I love reading and spending time with friends and family. I always believe in staying kind because you never know what someone else is going through at home. I love sushi as well! It has most probably always been my favourite food! I am a fourth year student studying Foundation Phase education at Stellenbosch University. I have completed a 360 hour TEFL course, exemplifying my love for the English language. As a specialized Foundation Phase educator, I firmly believe that the knowledge I have gathered will help build strong foundations for my students in their journey to English success. I have a good practical experience and am able to adapt different teaching styles to best suit a students needs. Learning concretely and using movement while learning, although it will be through a screen, makes learning more engaging and a fun way to gain knowledge!

Hi! I’m currently studying a maths engineering degree at university and I can’t wait to use the skills I’ve learned to help students with maths and science. I understand what it’s like to struggle with a STEM subject, so I approach my tutoring from a place of patience and sympathy. When a student doesn’t understand a concept, I focus on finding out exactly what piece of the puzzle they are missing, and will re-explain the idea in a way that works for them, as everyone learns differently! For secondary school I attended South Hampstead High School and took my GCSE’s and A Levels there. For my GCSEs I received a nine in maths, English literature , all three sciences, geography and computer science, and an eight in French, art and English Language. For my A levels I received an A star in maths, further maths and physics, and an A in computer science. Currently I’m loving studying an Engineering Mathematics degree at the University of Bristol and I just completed my first year. I’m set to do an integrated masters there as well.

My name is Hannah and I studied English language and linguistics. I also studied the following A levels: Spanish, Psychology and Geography. I love to play the instruments such as the piano for fun and reading. I have a passion for encouraging and supporting students in their learning and to achieve their greatest potential! I have a BA in English language and linguistics, a dissertation in the effectiveness of microlearning through the platform Youtube, in learning Spanish (inspired by my UROP Project). I am currently working in the education sector as a SEN TA, supporting children in their learning. Receiving some training in understanding autism at schools and special needs. Stephanie O'Dell is a care support worker for vulnerable adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She has three years of experience teaching English and some additional experience with drama and art. As well as teaching, Stephanie has also been an Editor at two online magazines. Hi! I am a current medical student who enjoys and is passionate about learning. I am hoping to help develop a similar love for learning within tutees that motivates them to want to understand what they are learning. I specialise in tutoring mainly in Biology, Psychology, Chemistry, and Math. Having studied the IBDP, I understand the benefit of a good comprehension and understanding so that they can not just work through one subject, but also balance a multitude of subjects and extracurricular activities, especially as a busy secondary student.
