Hi, I am Tutor Mega. I have 3 years of experience teaching online and over 5 years of teaching offline. My journey as a tutor started in the university, by helping my colleagues catch up with the curriculum. This passion grew and I absolutely love helping students jump hurdles that seemed like mountains in the past. I am a Pharmacist by profession and this requires a broad knowledge of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Psychology to the advanced level, as it is needed to understand, discover and produce medicines for human use. I also have a teaching certificate from the TEFL Professional Institute. I have tutored Biology, Chemistry,Psychology and Physics at GCSE and A-levels, and I have also tutored Pharmacology to medical, nursing, and pharmacy students. My goal and tutoring style is to prioritize understanding while providing strategies to answer questions properly for the maximum possible marks, therefore, helping students achieve their academic goals. My story is one of pure resilience which is what I want to impact in my students daily. I went from a struggling high school student to acing my GCSE, and finally becoming a Pharmacist, which has always been my dream. I am a clinical researcher because I love to discover new things which also fostered my love for teaching. After all, learning is a two-way process and it never stops. Aside from teaching, I love to read, I love to cook as well as I am on a journey to discover new recipes!!! I adapt lesson style and content to your needs. We can go through specific subject areas, study skills and exam skills as required. I can vary how the material is delivered according to the situation and what works for you. I will teach and do lecture notes where appropriate, or take a more "coaching" style if that suits you and the situation better. We can even do more seminar/discussion style lessons as you become more comfortable with the material. At the heart of all of the above is making sure that we are working together so that you can achieve your goals. I know that you are probably already having lessons in school or at home, and my goal will be to complement those existing lessons rather than replacing them so that you can get the best value out of our time together. Specialisms: I am able to cover all aspects of the curriculum but I am particularly focused on skills. Psychology is a little different to other subjects covered at A-Level - not only do students have to learn a lot of information and produce it under exam conditions, but there is also a need to analyze and evaluate what has been learned so that they can write clearly, concisely and insightfully about that information. As well as teaching the syllabus content, I can help improve a student's thinking and writing skills so that they can go into exams with more confidence. I have also developed my coaching skills so work with students to help them improve their own problem-solving capabilities so that they can identify how they can study more effectively. A bit about me: I'm a PhD-qualified tutor who, over the course of my career, spent time working as a researcher, consultant and analyst across different industries. In all of those other roles, the part I enjoyed most was training, teaching and coaching people, so I am working towards making that my full-time career. Working in industry has taught me the importance of always turning up prepared and ready to work, using clear, prompt and honest communication and making sure that whoever I am working with knows that I am working in their best interests. The same will apply when we work together. In my spare time I love to play football and follow a lot of sport. I am learning to play guitar (very slowly) and enjoy listening to music, going to gigs when the opportunity arises. I love learning and am always doing some course or another - I'm currently studying to teach English as a foreign language and working towards accredited coach status. Hi! My name is Lucy and I'm 22 years old from the North East. I am currently completing my Masters in Developmental Psychology and have a deep interest in education and teaching. My background in psychology has helped me to gain a deep understanding of how young people learn and how best to explain tricky concepts. In my free time I enjoy reading, pilates and spending time with my dog! I am expected to receive a Merit grade. Previous to this, I did my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Sheffield Hallam and achieved a 2:1 grade.
