I have been tutoring with GoStudent for almost a year now, having formerly worked at museums, churches and summer camps. I enjoy working with children and am a current Sunday-School teacher and former volunteer with several youth charities. I also have two years of classroom experience with Years 2 and 3, but am happy to work with children of any age, teaching English, Maths, History, Latin, and RE. Please note I do not take adult learners at this time. I am a graduate of the University of Cambridge with a first-class degree in History, also having taken papers in Classics and Theology. I won several prizes during my degree, including three prize scholarships and the Roy Porter Prize for History in my second year. Prior to my degree, I took three A-Levels in History, Maths and English, receiving all A*s, and prior to that, ten GCSEs, receiving all 9s.

Hi, I'm Raiyaan — a Medical student at UCL and a former pupil of St Paul's School, Barnes. I tutor GCSE Maths and the Sciences, and I genuinely love helping students have that "it finally makes sense!" moment. My approach is patient, friendly and completely non-judgemental: I start by understanding where a student is stuck, then break tricky topics into simple, manageable steps until they click. I care just as much about building confidence as improving grades — because once a student believes they can do it, everything gets easier. I adapt to how each young person learns best, and I'm comfortable supporting those who find learning more challenging, including students with dyslexia. Because I sat these exams recently, I know the current specifications, exam techniques and common pitfalls inside out. Alongside my studies, I've spent the past two years tutoring GCSE Maths and Science, helping students make real, measurable progress and grow in confidence. I've also volunteered with elderly and vulnerable people in a care home, which taught me the patience and clear communication that make a genuine difference in one-to-one teaching.
