Hello! My name is Erin, I am currently a first year medical student at the University of Birmingham. As a tutor, my main aim is to quickly determine a students weaknesses, then create a dedicated study plan to help them improve in those areas. I believe that active recall, spaced repetition, and lots and lots of past paper questions - are the key to success! I am well versed in tutoring students of all ages; I have tutored various students ranging from ages 6 to 16 in a variety of different settings. I am also experienced in entrance exam tutoring. Having sat several entrance exams over my lifetime, I understand how to make a study plan that is both time efficient and effective, and how to utilise this study plan effectively. I have previously mentored students who wish to study medicine through UCAS, entrance exam and interview preparation; several of them currently study at top universities, including Oxford and Cambridge! In my spare time, I am a highly creative person - I frequently attend dance classes, I music direct/conduct my university choir, and I scrapbook! I also love to read :) Currently attending the University of Birmingham Medical School - 1st year, Medicine. Attended a top London Grammar school; where I achieved 10 A*s (Grades 8-9) at GCSE level, and 3 As at A level in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology. Hi! I'm Michaelangelos, a mathematics graduate from the University of St Andrews (MMath) and incoming PhD student at the University of Glasgow. I've been tutoring maths for several years, including Higher and National 5, and it's something I genuinely love doing. What I care most about is helping students build real confidence and intuition, not just memorise steps. Maths can feel intimidating, and I get a lot of satisfaction from being the person who helps make it click, whether that's turning anxiety into understanding, or helping a curious student go further than they thought possible. I'm equally excited to work with students who find maths difficult and scary as I am to work with those who want to push themselves and become really strong mathematically. I am currently an incoming PhD student at the University of Glasgow, where my research focuses on dissecting neural networks, specifically regarding optimisation and generalisation.
