I completed a 10,000-word project on the 2010 BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill, analysing the systemic factors that caused the disaster and engaging with topics such as environmental regulation, corporate accountability and sustainability. This strengthened my skills in independent research, planning, structuring arguments and writing in a clear, persuasive style. I am now progressing to a Master’s in Social Science Research at Loughborough University, where I will be further developing advanced skills in essay writing, academic reading and detailed analysis.
