Hello! My name is Tanya, and I'm a Psychology student with a passion for learning and helping others reach their full potential. Having benefited from excellent tutors myself, I've seen firsthand the positive impact that dedicated support can have. Today, I possess the qualities of an effective, reliable tutor, including strong communication skills and a willingness to listen. I am currently studying a BSc psychology degree at Bangor University, working at a First Class Honours. I had received AAA for my A levels, which consisted of Biology, Psychology and Sociology. My degree has given me a strong understanding of key theories as well as research methods, including both qualitative and quantitative research methods. I have experience in designing and conducting empirical research. Throughout my studies, I have engaged in a multitude of modules, such as developmental psychology, biopsychology, personality theory and neuropsychology. I have completed coursework that relied heavily on critical analysis of academic literature. Additionally, I studied at Sandhurst Sixth form where I took Biology, Sociology and Psychology as A levels, learning and building the necessary foundations for my university years. I conducted lab tests in biology and qualitative research for both psychology and sociology. I solidified by critical thinking and my ability to efficiently understand topics.

My name is Khalood Zara, and I am a Law graduate with a strong and diverse academic background. Alongside studying Law at university, I completed A-levels in Mathematics, Economics, Business, and Psychology, which provided me with a broad foundation across both essay-based and quantitative subjects. This combination has enabled me to develop excellent written communication, analytical reasoning, and numerical skills, allowing me to support students with a range of learning styles and academic needs. I help KS3 and GCSE students build real confidence in Spanish — not just memorise vocabulary for the next test, but actually understand and enjoy the language. For the past seven years I've guided teenagers through reading, writing, speaking and listening, with lessons built around exactly what they're examined on (AQA specification). Before tutoring, I worked as a journalist — and it shaped how I teach: I break grammar down the way I'd break down a complex story, clearly and without jargon, always checking it's landed before moving on. I have a BA (Hons) in Natural Sciences (Materials Science) at the University of Cambridge, ranking in the top third of my cohort last year. I have tutored at the secondary-level, and have since offered Oxbridge admission prep (ESAT, interview). I teach GCSE and KS3 chemistry & maths. I am currently working as a teaching assistant at a secondary school. During university I have held internships and voluntary roles as an academic representative, college representative, research assistant at a pharmaceuticals company, and web developer creating educational resources for undergraduate materials science, along with a breadth of research projects and other coursework. I draw on all this experience in lessons to make science and maths relevant and fun!
